Just north of downtown Sechelt lies the residential neighbourhood of West Sechelt. This community is situated on a hillside overlooking Georgia Strait, and there is a plateau above that is both residential and agricultural. West Sechelt is a convenient area to stay when visiting the Sunshine Coast. The drive to the many services of downtown Sechelt is five to ten minutes. The Trail Bay seawall and a beach access at the bottom of Mason Road are handy. And you're well positioned for travelling north to Pender Harbour and the various lakes, or east to Sechelt Inlet.
West Sechelt is home to the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden, which is currently under development. Although there is much work still to do on the garden, there are already things to see, and guided tours are offered. The garden society also hosts frequent garden-related events. You can find out more at their web site. |
